Change language bar's active language

If you want your site's language bar's first item to be the active one change lines on locale.module:

How to backup your webserver files using rsync.net

I am very happy with my provider, but if you don't have backup server for your account, you need another service to backup your files.

After a little research, i found rsync.net. Their price is acceptable ($0.80-1.4 gb/mounth | static - global redundant) , and the service is really fine.

I want to backup my dbs every night, but files; every two weeks. My model is like this:

Backup every database individually to /mybackups/db
Backup every vhost folder individually /mybackups/vhosts
Than mount rsync.net filesystem to the webserver
Syncronize local backup folder to the mounted filesystem

Here is how i setup my server.

You need to install sshfs to your server first, than

sudo apt-get install sshfs

due to a bug

sudo modprobe fuse

If rsync is not installed

sudo apt-get install rsync

After you make your purchase from rsync.net, they will send you an email regarding to your account information. I choosed tp pay with paypal and subscribed, so it will be paid monthly.

We are going to use automated scripts, so, it is better to use ssh keys. Type

ssh-keygen -t rsa

Do not enter a pass phrase, just hit enter twice.

Now we need to send it to the rsync.net server. Type something like this:

scp ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub 123@tv-s009.rsync.net:.ssh/authorized_keys

Of course change 123@tv-s009.rsync.net with your rsync.net user info.

To backup my databases i use this bashscript (autodb.sh)

Now save it wherever you want (not under anywhere web accesible!) and change its writing permissions to 755

To backup my files (autofiles.sh) i use something like this

Save this file like the other one and change write permission of course.

Now we need to tell the machine to run these scripts automatically. Type

crontab -e

At the end of the file add these lines and press kntrl+o and enter (i mean save it)

 01 02 * * * /your/path/to/autodb.sh
01 03 * * 7 /your/path/to/autofiles.sh

First line will execute the db bash script every day at 02:01 am, the second one execute files bash script every sunday at 03:01, but the file control in the script cause it to run only once in two weeks.

Türkiye il ve ilçelerini bulmanın bu kadar zor olacağını tahmin etmemiştim, mecburen oturup uğraştım, bari siz uğraşmayın. İhtiyacınız olan:

1. Taxonomy xml

2. Buradaki xml dosyası

Yukarıda belirttiğim xml dosyasında term id'ler belirtilmiş, haliyle idlerde düzenleme yapmanız gerekebilir, uğraşmamak için drupal kurulumunun hemen ardından import edin. Modülün çalışma mantığı basit, kurun, import edin, seçenekleri düzenleyin, hepsi bu.

Benzer işler görmek için, örneğin şuradaki türkiye iller ve ilçeler xml dosyasını yukarıdaki şekilde taxonomy xml ile kullanabilmek için, şuradaki basit php dosyasını da indirebilirsiniz. Böylece farklı ağaç yapısındaki xml verisini taxonomy xml importer yapısına dönüştürebilirsiniz, tabii kodu düzenleyerek.

Import sql files to mysql db in mac

For some projects, i use my local machine. It's a mac and trust me it's not a good idea to use your mac for apache and mysql servers (even for php, i got lots of problems). I tried to import an sql file through phpmyadmin, but i had too many problems so i decided to import it using shell. What you need to do is:

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root -p

than enter your password, you are in mysql now.

Change the max_allowed_packet size temporarily (i tried to change it like /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld -u root --max_allowed_packet=32M but it gave me a millon errors, so i suggest don't try to change it this way.)

SET GLOBAL max_allowed_packet=1000000000;

but don't forget, after you restart mysql server the size will be reduced to 1M again (and it will not accept files even less than 1mb!!!)

gzip your sql file :

gzip /Users/bekir/Desktop/keywords.sql

(whatever your file name is and whereever you saved it)

than you write this command to the shell:

gunzip < /Users/bekir/Desktop/keywords.sql.gz | /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root -p your_db_name

it will prompt your password, enter it

Than voila! 130k lines of sql is imported to your mysql db like, in a freaking second!

I know it shouldn't be this hard to import sql to any db. But i still love my mac.

Allowed memory size of xxx bytes exhausted drupal

I have a list of nodes and for the crud operations a created a custom module, so basicly, when you click to a button, it posts some variables to a url with ajax and the custom module executes a drupal_execute function after the form variables.

The problem occured, after the nodes reached the number like 30k, at that point i started to get a fatal error about memory limit. I searched the core and with the help of the firebug Net, i saw that all the elements of the node that i'm trying to create (or edit) and i realized it's because of the node refference field. I set the field as a select list, so when the module try to create a node, thousands of nid's are printed which causes the memory problem. So i configured the field as autocomplete. At this point i started to get another error as "no title has found". So i changed the line in my custom module:

$form_state['values']['field_movie'][0]['nid']['nid'] = $title." [nid:".$_POST['nid']."]";

Now, the memory problem is solved.
